MAD MIKE SPEAKS OUT!
The Pope and The War
email sent to Jerry Bowyer and Bill O'Reilly in response to this topic

I am a Roman Catholic. I saw the Archbishop of the Military on EWTN's The World Over Live the other week. He was talking about what the Catholic Church's position on military action was. He said that it slightly differs from where the Pope stands. The Pope will never, in any circumstance, approve of war. Even if the Iraqi people were to cry out specifically to him to be saved by this "Anti-Christ", the Pope would say "No War", try more diplomatic tactics. The Catholic Church, however, says that a just war should ONLY take place when all other means have been exhausted. Now, the big question. Who determines when that should be? The Archbishop says that it is up to the leader of the individual nation (in this case, President Bush). After 12 years, 17 resolutions and no sign of "true" compliance, I would have to agree with President Bush that we HAVE exhausted all other means.

I was in church yesterday for Ash Wednesday and the priest was saying to pray for World Peace, and that is what the Pope is striving for. It is a wonderful thought, one which I pray constantly for. But, it is impossible to have world peace with terrorists and dictators like Saddam Hussein in this world. Jesus himself went to war against evil. He use to drive out demons from possessed people all of the time. I see this as no different. We obviously do not have the power of Jesus Christ. We do, however, have the ability, like Christ, to see evil. This is just the only means in which to deal with evil. When was the last time that anyone thought the Devil could be reasoned with? There is no reasoning with Lucifer, nor can he be trusted.

We have the technology to keep casualties at a minimum. We should take advantage of this technology and use it to rid the world of those who are seeking the opposite of peace. Only then can we achieve World Peace.

Those liberals who wish to live in their fantasy
"Utopia" will never see what is real, and they can never - in any case - recognize true evil.

Thank God George W. Bush is President.

I would hate to think where we would be with Algore in this position.

God Bless America,
